Research Interests
My team builds and scales platforms that connect academic biomedical innovation with industry demand, enabling more efficient pathways to clinical and commercial impact. I lead the development of Pitt.Labs, a Health Sciences initiative at the University of Pittsburgh that streamlines how external partners access faculty expertise, core facilities, and specialized capabilities through a coordinated fee for service model. Pitt.Labs serves as a front door for industry engagement, providing access to capabilities in areas such as genomics, proteomics, biomarker development, and advanced model systems to accelerate the application of scientific discoveries.
My work focuses on developing institutional strategies and partnerships that strengthen translational research ecosystems, increase research funding, and enable interdisciplinary collaboration across academia, healthcare systems, and industry. I received my PhD in Plant Molecular Physiology and Metabolism from Purdue University, where I studied selenium metabolism and its implications for human health, and completed postdoctoral training in protein engineering focused on cytochrome P450 chimeras. This scientific foundation informs my systems level approach to advancing biomedical translation.
